The Drug and Alcohol Treatment Program at Gospel Rescue Ministries (GRM) is a holistic, comprehensive addiction program for men and women. Started in 1993 with Dr. David F. Allen, MPH, the program offers: spiritual direction, addiction and remedial education, psychological support, family participation, physical development, vocational support, aftercare and evaluation. Dr. Allen currently serves as Treatment Director Emeritus and provides training for staff, clients and the community-at-large on a monthly basis.
Programs offered are short term (90 days) and longer term (6-9 months). The short term program consists of having no contact with anyone outside the facility. Group work is intensive with a focus on remaining abstinent from drugs and alcohol, understanding the nature of addiction, introducing foundational principles of spirituality, increasing social skills in a supportive environment, gaining emotional stability and acceptance of self and others.
Longer term treatment (6-9 months) includes individual and group therapy, advanced addiction work, character formation, leadership and responsibility, work readiness and computer skills. Transition to aftercare, job and housing begins after completion of six months of treatment.
Our women's program has a capacity of 18 and the men's program has a capacity of 80. GRM is a safe therapeutic community in which a foundation is laid for lasting change to take place.
The treatment programs are certified by the Department of Health, Addiction Prevention and Recovery Administration (APRA) in WashingtonDC. Staff is certified, trained, and dedicated to helping men and women through every stage of recovery.
